FAQ

What is the difference between coaching and counseling?

Coaching is a relationship of equals, prompted by the client and built on a foundation of self efficacy and trust. Counseling is psycho therapeutic in nature, and is more of a helping focused relationship. In coaching, my goal is to assist you in learning to help yourself by initiating thoughtful questions and provocative pathways to better understanding. I strongly believe each person possess the answers to their own questions, but sometimes we need others to support and guide us on the pathway of change and greater understanding. If during our work together it seems that we have veered off into counseling territory I will be happy to refer you to another practitioner with a counseling license. Many people have both a coach and a therapist, as the two are quite different.
